                                     `                                                    play together.  Classes surround babies and toddlers with melodies and rhythms

                                                                                          from around the world while engaging them with puppets, books, balls, and

                                                                                          dozens of instruments that shake, jingle and tap.  Develops early musicality and

                                                                                          encourages cognitive and motor development.  Moms, dad, nannies, and grandparents

                                                                                          welcome.  Ages birth through 3.

                                                                                          Preschool Music is a singing- and movement-based class that introduces the patterns

                                                                                          and concepts students will build upon throughout the program. Develops musicianship

                                                                                          and listening skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Features Music & Movement

                q                                                                        (Fall); Music Around the World (Winter); and Introducing the Notes (Spring).  Ages

                                                                                          2-1/2 through 4.

     

                                                                                          Exploring Music guides young children into the next level of music learning.  Emphasis is

                                                                                          on building accurate pitch and rhythm skills, ensemble playing, and the beginnings of

                                                                                          reading music.  Features Rhythm and Melody (Fall); Keyboard Adventures (Winter);

                                                                                          and Sing & Pretend (Spring).

                                                                                         Foundations prepares kindergarteners or first-graders for instrumental instruction.  Through

                                                                                         a multi-sensory approach that includes singing, playing, moving, listening, and writing,

                                                                                         children learn about musical terms and styles, instrument families, and note                      rreading.                                                                           reading.  In addition to playing percussion and Orff instruments, students focus on

                                                                                        Keyboard classes introduce piano patterns and fingering, music notation, and improvising.

                                                                                        Singing classes introduce vocal technique, repertoire, and performance skills.  The focus

                                                                                        is on developing confidcnce and having fun.
