Musical Beginnings offers private lessons for children, teens and adults in the following instruments:

Piano, Violin, Viola,Voice,
Drums, Guitar and Electric Bass

Most lessons are given at Musical Beginnings studios in Westchester.  (Drum and piano lessons are available in your home if you are a resident of Westchester, Culver City, Playa del Rey, Marinia Del Rey, or the South Bay). Tuition for private lessons varies according to instrument and teacher.  It currently ranges from $120 to $140 per month for weekly half-hour lessons.  Tuition is based on the teacher and instrument chosen. Lessons are ongoing and can be started at any time.

Weekly lessons are supplemented by a variety of optional performance opportunities that include workshops, recitals, exams, ensembles and family music activities. These events are available to all of our private students.

All Musical Beginnings faculty have degrees in music, as well as significant performing and teaching experience. They are skilled in working with a variety of ages and ability levels. Upon enrollment, we try to match each student with the instructor that best fits his or her needs and interests.

**Studio Policy for Private Lessons**

Tuition Policy:

• Tuition is due on the first lesson of every month. 
• Tuition covers four lessons a month.  When a month has five lesson days in it, the fifth is used to balance out a month that has only had three lessons in it due to a holiday or scheduled teacher absence.  Your teacher will keep you apprised of the schedule.

 

Missed-Lesson Policy:

• Tuition is not prorated for missed lessons.
• Rescheduling a lesson requires at least 48-hour notice given directly to your teacher. Your instructor’s contact information is on your registration form; please add it to your cell and email contact lists so it is handy when you need it.
• Make-ups for lessons missed with sufficient notice will be given as soon as time becomes available in your teacher’s schedule or on a designated make-up day.
• If sufficient notice is not given for a missed lesson, the student forfeits that lesson and tuition is used to hold the spot.
• We know that scheduling conflicts come up from time to time, but please make your lesson time a priority.  If an excessive number of make-ups is requested, it may not be possible to continue to hold the student’s regular time slot.
